Senior Sales Executive for Social Advertising/Media Startup

We are looking for a successful Senior Sales Executive (w/ background in Media and Entertainment) to work directly with our client - a provider of social widget creation, distribution and rewards program services firm that provides Business-to-Business(b2b) and a Business-to-Consumer(b2c) organizations with a cost-effective method to identify social trendsetters, extend reach to high-value consumer bases, and increase network-effect through networking platforms like Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and other high-traffic social platforms. Our client is on the leading edge of social and marketing technology and offers solutions that are based on a mix of online media, online advertising, rewards programs, social networking, and interactive marketing. And they deliver innovative solutions that span both traditional and emerging disciplines. They are a small (but growing) hard-working team looking for an ambitious, talented senior-level sales individual who wants to help take them to the next level. They are privately funded and based in Georgetown, Washington, DC.
 
The ideal candidate must be passionate about cutting edge social advertising and technology and thrives in a start up environment and will have a minimum of five (5) years advertising/media sales experience (w/ media and entertainment experience is preferred) and the ability to build relationships with clients face-to-face, online, and by telephone.  They must be able to sell multiple products, conduct sales presentations and develop new business through cold calling and prospecting.  To be successful, they must meet deadlines; have a positive attitude and team player mentality.

Basic Qualifications
 
  • 5+ years advertising/media sales experience w/ media and entertainment experience.
  • Experience selling social advertising, interactive marketing, interactive advertising, or online media.
  • Experience selling business solutions to C-level decision makers.
  • Must have a proven track record and quota achievement.
  • Must be able to thrive in a start up environment.
  • Bachelors degree required; Degree in Marketing with interactive agency sales experience is helpful but not required.
  • Must be a team player.

Additional (Desired) Qualifications
 
  • Thorough understanding of internet media delivery technologies including online advertising, social media, video advertising.
  • Strong knowledge of the media and entertainment industry, and the ecosystem of companies which leverage the Internet as a major means of commerce and operations.
  • Situational fluency, ability to influence and motivate others, and perseverance to handle challenging business situations
  • Ability to gather data from the market and customers to analytically determine go-to-market priorities
  • Desire for on-going challenges and interest in continuously learning about new Internet technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a broad range of technical and business audiences
